Hello Authors,
Well, we’ve received some great ideas. I’d like to synthesize some of them and keep the ball rolling.
As Mckie was our very first commenter, his idea should get the special honors of being the basis for the novel. However, we’ll give Jason some honorable mention by perhaps weaving his idea of Universal Anarchists into the story.
So, we have a Colony Ship (I assume this is a human colony ship, but that’s up to you). Where did it come from? Where is it now? Why was there a need for a Colony Ship? Did humanity destroy Earth? Or had humanity colonized other worlds after Earth, then those worlds were invaded by aliens? Or perhaps there is a completely different reason.
What does the Colony Ship look like? What is it’s propulsion system?
Now, let’s consider the ship Indiana. My initial reaction was, “Why is called Indiana?” I’m not opposed to the idea, but we’ll have to have a good reason for it. So ponder that for a bit. As with the Colony Ship, we’ll need to know what it looks like, how it was built, how it propels itself through space, and any other considerations you conjure up (such as defenses, for example).
All this may take several posts, but we’ll begin with just throwing all the cards on the table, so to speak.
To weave Jason’s idea of Universal Anarchists into the story, I thought perhaps there could a be a secret number of members on board the Indiana that will attempt, later in the story, to disrupt the building of the New World. This is getting more into plot, but if you have some ideas along this line, feel free to talk about them. We can walk several paths at once.
